Assumptions used in determining population: (per City of Tarboro's May 18, 2001 submission to the Department of Justice)
__(1)  Of the 679 people who were living in temporary homes at Keelin trailer park at the time of the 2000 census, approximately 500 listed the trailer park as their place of residence.
__(2)  The total town population has been reduced by about 270 as a result of Keelin trailer park residents relocating to Princeville or other localities outside Tarboro.
__(3)  Of the approximately 500 people who listed Keelin as their residence at the time of the census about 230 remained in Tarboro but in different places within the town.
__(4)  The 230 Keelin residents who remained in Tarboro relocated evenly across the 8 wards, adding about 29 people to each ward.
__(5)The racial make-up of those from Keelin who left Tarboro and those who stayed was the same as the racial make-up of the 500 people who identified Keelin as their residence, i.e., about 6% were white and 94% black
